Faculty & Staff Spotlight

I’m sure we all know that Zicklin has some of the greatest faculty and staff. We see proof of that each day in our offices and in the classrooms.

But, if you are under the impression that the only thing our faculty does is teach, think again. Researchers throughout the world turn to Zicklin faculty as a resource for their own research. The Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is fast becoming a top destination for scholarly research. The SSRN is an active database where faculty research can be downloaded and used for various purposes. According to Gregg Gordon, President of SSRN, they have just “reached 25,000,000 all time downloads of full text papers from the SSRN eLibrary”. It is exciting to know that for the 12 months ending April 9, 2009 Zicklin ranks 28th of the 100 top US Business Schools in the number of total new downloads of our faculty research. We also rank 13th in the number of authors submitting papers, with 111 Zicklin faculty listed. University of Texas at Dallas also lists a “Top 100 Business School Rankings”. In this listing, Zicklin is 46th of the top 100 North American Business Schools shown, and 50th of the top 100 worldwide Business Schools.

And if you think our staff only processes applications, advisees students on academic, student life and career issues, and generally keeps the Zicklin School running, they have also been busy spreading the good news about Baruch and Zicklin off campus.

On February 6th we reached out to the Zicklin faculty and staff inviting them to share comings and goings, publications, seminars, etc. with the entire Zicklin community. . Little did we know what an overwhelming response we would receive! Click here to see what we’ve been doing!
